I wanted so badly to connect with this novel because so many people raved about it and also because it was a local author…unfortunately it just didn’t wow me. Loved this book. The voice of the author was wonderful and the story so poignant. It reminded me spot much of my childhood, set in 1961. The kids in the book did all the things we did as kids, sort of!
