This is the first book by this author for me. I have her debut novel but haven't read it yet so I can't compare them. This book is about two twin sisters from Mallard, Louisiana. A town known for the lightness of the blacks that live there. The two sister's leave Mallard to get jobs and in the process of being gone, one sister purposely gets lost, cuts her ties and is never heard from. This book is like a rewrite of Passing by Nella Larsen with a slight change of twins instead of best friends. I
