This debut novel is very good. The story is set in the sixties during the early civil rights movement and was both a historical fiction and contemporary fiction for me. I enjoyed this book a lot and found it easy to read and difficult to put down. It built up a certain amount of tension though I think the author let it fizzle out at the end. I also think some of the events in the book seem to get thrown in without a lot of thought or reason for them to be there. I enjoyed the fact that it was ab ...more
