Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a biography of Christoper McCandless who was born in 1968 and died in 1992. It is also an adventure story about the wayfaring life. The author's purpose in writing this book is to examine what motivated a young man to abandon the life he had known and take to the road and to finally end up in Alaska in the wilderness north of Mount McKinley where he died.
