Clearly Daisy Harris loves Seattle as much as I do. It was fun to see my beloved city through someone else's eyes. She's a transplant but she's been assimilated since she actually wears socks with sandals she says. Ewwwww. Even I'm not that bad. :)
This was a very sweet book and the only reasons I didn't give it five stars were that there was no plot and that it was too monotone. What I mean is that almost all of the conflict was resolved within a few pages. The longest conflict was resolved with ...more

UPDATE 8-10-2014--This book is FREE right now on Amazon! I loved Tomas from the first moment we meet him. I love the sweetness of his and Jesse's relationship, his caretaker urges, and both of their journeys with family and work. Fans of Holsum college will welcome Harris's latest, but this is also the perfect introduction to her--a meaty single title that showcases the best of her voice with two terrific virgin heroes. And one seriously large dog :)

I'm glad I read this novel. I seriously liked Tomas. I thought he was generally a sweetheart who had accepted not being out, but not in a negative way. His life was very don't ask, don't tell and while he might not have been happy about it, he also wasn't miserable either. Jesse on the other hand had my sympathy but he wasn't the most likeable. He's a little self centered in the way that some young folks can be sometimes. What threw me for a loop is that Jesse is 21 and Tomas is 25. But it feels

I've eyed this one for a long time and finally just picked it up. I like stories sent in the Northwest since that's where I live. This one had no big surprises, but it was pretty sweet with a few edgy edges. The characters had depth and I liked the mix of the different cultures. I also appreciated that she didn't try to smooth everything out and tie up everything into peace and happiness at the end. There was growth (though I thought some was a little quick) and there were tentative truces in sp

I'm going to give this one a 3.5
I'm live in WA, so I really like reading stories that are based in our state. I get a big kick when I recognized areas that author talks about.

I liked it a lot, then only a little. I guess I didn't feel a strong enough connection between the characters, particularly towards the end. It was okay.
