[close] What comes through from Leann Lane’s book is the way she puts her heart and soul into her writing. Its evident in every line she pens and is a major part of her story telling. This is the first book in a trilogy and centre’s on the main character Mia and her inner torment over her love for her dominant boss Reed.
Set to a backdrop of BDSM there is also her desire to be his submissive lover but its tempered by her own streak of stubborn independence, so this too is an inner struggle which frequently has her not knowing where she is in her relationship with her Master, due to his possible infidelity, and then there’s her desire to explore more deeply, and for real, the sub/dom fantasies she entertained in her youth from secretly reading erotic books.
This makes for a story that twists and turns throughout, the characters are entertaining, especially Mia’s best friend Lizzie who has a devilishly wicked streak that often leads Mia into places and situations which she’d rather not be in.
In all a most entertaining read set against an interesting backdrop that enhances the story rather than distracting from it, give it a try.
