It was told over a long period of time & flowed flawlessly together. Follett not only told the story well but did a wonderful job introducing his characters. Many times while reading a vast novel such as this one, the cast of characters tends to become confusing. You wonder to yourself, "Now who in the heck is this?" When the cast of characters become muddled, I start losing interest.
