People go ga-ga over this trilogy, and I'm not quite sure why. I guess I'm just not into fantasy-fantasy, even though this is probably the genre's crowning achievement. It just doesn't do it for me. I love The Hobbit, and I'm a big fan of its humor and pacing, but The Fellowship of the Ring just felt slow to me, and I hate how every character seems to be related to one another (Faramir, brother to Baramir, uncle to Sharamir, second-cousin to Claramir...).
