The Bridge of Deaths by M.C.V Egan is a poignant journey into history.
The story is unique in several ways; firstly it is based on a true story. The author took time and effort to research the death of her grandfather and in this book his story is told. It is where conventional enquiries ended that this book takes a twist. Psychics, past life regression and shamans play a major role. I loved the fact that the author kept second guessing said routes of enquiry. The love story on the one hand and ...more

The Bridge Of Deaths is about a woman who has wanted to know the true circumstances behind her grandfather's death from a very early age. She brings fiction and non-fiction all together in one book. Her research takes her on a long journey of over two decades to Denmark, England and The United States. I love that she said that she got some of her info from the internet. I can relate to this because I learned a long time ago that if I wanted to know something all I had to do was go on the interne

After having read the same book with a more academic nature I was surprised at myself for looking forward to re-read the book!
Given, I prefer the first to this copy but how many authors can make you look forward to reading the same book? Not many.
This book is far more accessible and the people who read fiction for escapism sake will find this version far more rewarding.

There comes a time, in every avid readers life, when he or she hits a book that makes you stop, think, and question or reanalyze your belief system. I have avoided quite a few books such as these for personal reasons for quite some time, but there was once a time when this particular would have hit my radar the moment it came out. I came upon an ad of this book that was up for review and after reading a brief description knew I had to read it. I use books at an attempt to escape life through fan

****I received this book as part of IO Book Tours from the author in exchange for an honest review*****
I like history. I don't want to marry it or anything, but I enjoy it and feel that yes, we do in fact learn from it. I like tales based on fact, too, and when I read the synopsis for The Bridge of Deaths by M.C.V. Egan, I was excited. Past life regressions, a brutal plane crash, soul mates---oh yeah, baby. This sounded great. But….well….the execution didn't come like I thought it would.

I must say that I would have given “The Bridge of Deaths” more stars, had the standard allowed me to go beyond five. So I had to accept the limitations, and have rated it FIVE STARS.

This is the story of one moment in time that could have caused an entirely different world history had it been effective. I must admit, I am not much historical spy novels, but MCV Egan caught me at the get go. This book grabs you at the beginning and will not let you go until you have finished reading it. Even after it is all said and done, you find yourself still wondering about some of the questions raised by the book.

Before I begin let me tell you...I am a history fanatic! I love to learn about history and could probably lose myself in hours in every history book you ever presented to me. That being said this book has a lot of history. The facts and details make a up a large portion of this book and yes in some areas people may tend to get more history then they bargained for.
At some points you do tend to lose the story among the abundance of facts and details but I am one of those that finds every fact and ...more

A Fascinating Blend of Fact, Fiction, History, Romance and the Metaphysical
Based on an actual event, The Bridge of Deaths tells the story of one woman’s search to uncover the truth behind the death of her grandfather. On August 15th, 1939, an English aircraft crashed in suspicious circumstances in Danish waters. Aboard were 5 important passengers, amongst them the author’s grandfather. Two weeks later, World War Two broke out. This part is factual, as is the incredibly well-documented data revea ...more

Unique…
I was honestly slightly confused as I started this book as to whether it was fiction or non-fiction. Once I realized it was both I was pleasantly intrigued. What a clever concept.
The authors’ grandfather did not survive a plane crash in 1939 in Denmark. He was a very young man only in his 30’s. The crash occurred the night before the start of WWII. Six people were on that plane. There were two Standard Oil employees from New Jersey, A German lawyer, a member, of Parliament, an airline emp ...more

The Bridge of Deaths by M.C.V. Egan is an interesting book about a couple who get dragged into the sometimes frightening world of exploring their past lives. Although the two of them may be only searching for some happy ‘love in all times’ story, they soon find they have to learn more about an incident where the man was a pilot in World War II as a pilot of a plane that was knocked out of the sky leaving him as the only survivor. This encourages the woman to pursue the facts of the accident thro

This book is a historical account of a plane crash from 1939. It focuses around 3 main characters, Bill, Maggie and Catalina, as they piece together information about the events of the crash. They soon realize they are uncovering a conspiracy. A lot of hard work and research went into writing this story.
I have never been very good at history and there were parts of the book that I found hard to read, myself, but it was very well written. There were many interesting bits of information and the bo ...more

This is a fictionalized account of an actual event. There is a bit of a love story and one of the characters has nightmares and seeks help for them, finding out that he was a pilot whose plane crashed in a past life. Bill and his new girlfriend Maggie end up trying to piece together a decades-old mystery using psychics, hypnotism, past-life regression, and good old-fashioned research. The story reads a lot like non-fiction and is very research-heavy. It was very slow for me. History lovers might

"The Bridge of Deaths" by M.C.V. Egan was recommended to me by several of my reviewer friends who just earned themselves more credibility. This well written and compelling story is based on a true event, the crash of a British Airways Plane at a Danish bridge in 1939.
A couple in Britain and a woman in Florida are trying to reconstruct the events and the lives of the people who were killed through various channels of research; some of it factual, some psychic.

M.C.V. Egan’s The Bridge of Death is quite an undertaking of intelligent research, fiction, metaphysics, and relationship story telling wrapped into the very clever umbrella of detective work. The story of Bill and Maggie interconnecting with Catalina via e-mails and skype is very clever combined with the historical back drop of intrigue and mystery and to have the real story, the mystery unfold through psychics as confirmed in a hypnotherapists office is very intriguing. Having done graduate wo
