I had no idea what this book was about, before I started, but I assumed (wrong) from the cover that it was a synopsis of the US education system. But since it kept getting such good reviews, I should’ve known better ;) Tara writes about her childhood growing up with an extreme Morman-prepper family and bi-polar father. Another reviewer described this book as “difficult to read, impossible to put down.” That was my experience... it was really hard to hear all the trauma, violence, gaslighting, abuse. Powerful story, and important to hear how difficult it is to leave all that behind, to choose life.
