I wasn't expecting all of the fairy tale nods. I caught ones to Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel, and I'm sure there were more. Those were fun.

I didn't really enjoy the random objectification of women. And I felt like Yennifer's appeal was somewhat forced. Maybe it will make more sense in later books.

Dark fairy tales mixed into fantasy narrative.

Beats many front runners for best fantasy by not getting to absorbed in some over arching story. Only a few of the top fantasy series make it anywhere with their long stories. I’m curious to read more of the Witcher and see where the story arcs go, it for the most part this book was about characters and short stories intertwined.

Book Geralt has a more developed sense of humor than Netflix Geralt.
Story line of the book is better woven.
