What Members Thought
This was what I expected and I mean that in a positive way! It was fast paced with the plot but still goes into the backstories of character’s motivations. While this story could potentially be viewed as purely an action/thriller there’s a greater purpose for why this story was written. I think the author did a great job weaving a hot political topic into what reality might look like for those actually making those hard decisions to leave their homes and migrate north. I really appreciated reading this book, and at times I had to not read it before bed as it was too intense. This book makes me want to read other books on the topic of Central American or Mexican migration to the US.
We need more voices telling these stories, not fewer. And this story was tremendous.
