Shelves: mystery, sci-fi, thriller, lgbt, family-legacy

This one definitely doesn't slot too neatly into most categories. It's sci fi, for sure, but it's more than that as well. There are other elements including class war, lots of lgbtq representation, climate change, legacy to an extent, and a decades old mystery. The story has a very shocking opening, and goes on with unexpected twists and turns as it goes.
