Like the movie, I absolutely LOVED this book! The wonderfully-talented William Goldman adapted the screenplay from this book, and, besides an increased level of detail within the novel, the two are extremely similar. If you liked the movie, you'll love the book, and if you haven't seen or read either, you're missing out! What more could you want than romance, suspense, swashbuckling adventure, and brilliant characters? On top of that, this gem of a book is excellently written, with a wonderfully ...more

I remembered this book being wildly dissimilar from the movie, but the further I got into the book, the more similar to the movie it became. I particularly enjoyed the whole meta aspect of Goldman telling about how the "original" story played a part in his childhood, and how he came to write the "abridged" version, as well as glimpses into the making of the movie, etc. ...more
