As with all of Tims much anticipated books they're over way too soon, as we gorge on every morsel taking in every detail trying to figure out the next piece of the puzzle.

It starts from where last time around we learn the fate of Potter but is all as it seems?
This time around its in the point of view of Potter and Seth as they are sent on a journey to try and unravel the identity of the photographer.

Friggin Hell, Tim O'Rourke is KILLING ME with these books!
Seriously, I'm skating the edge of completely mental at this point....oh, but what a way to go!!

I'm not gonna lie, after the execution of Potter at the end of 'Dead Water' I was more than a little anxious going into this, there is only so much my poor little shriveled heart can take. This book starts off prior to that very public, very heartbreaking turn of events. Being back in Potter's hea Friggin Hell, Tim O'Rourke is KILLING ME with these books!

I'm not gonna lie, after the execution of Potter at the end of 'Dead Water' I was more than a little anxious going into this, there is only so much my poor little shriveled heart can take. This book starts off prior to that very public, very heartbreaking turn of events. Being back in Potter's head after mourning his loss was thrilling, hilarious & devastating all at the same time. I'm admittedly a little emotionally strung out, so my review may be a but jumpy-sorry. I was surprised with how much I enjoyed Potter and Jack Seth's interactions with each other. It was very reminiscent of Murphy, but much more violent Lol

With my eyes fixed on Potter, I headed straight for him. Curling my bony fingers into a fist, I punched him squarely in the face. There was a cracking sound as my fist crunched into the flat of his nose and he shot back down the corridor, landing on the floor.
"What the fuck was that for?"
"It made me feel better"
"No wonder my fucking nose looks the way it does. What, with Murphy's driving and people queuing up to take pot-shots at me the whole fucking time..."
"Maybe you shouldn't be such a prick, and perhaps people wouldn't feel the need to slap you so much."
"Who are you calling a prick...?"

This book reminded me a little of Harry Potter & the prisoner of Azkaban (think Hermione's time-turner, that's all I'm saying). Lots of action and plenty of mystery but most of all were the chills I've come to expect. The scariest part of these books is the huge amount of unknowns, especially with the characters. You really can't trust anyone or anything, as soon as you do it bites you in the ass and that is what keeps me in suspense the most. As soon as you think you have something figured out, you're proved wrong in the worst possible way. We also get to venture back into Jack Seth's head here and that whole experience caught me off-guard. Besides finding him surprisingly quite funny at times, disturbing at others, it becomes quite clear something has changed with him since being holed up with Kiera and re-living his story. He was trying to break her by revealing their true relationship and the secrets of her past, but I think maybe she got to him instead.

Who was I trying to kid? I'd forgotten how to be good a whole lifetime ago. Being good didn't come easy to me. I struggled with that.

With so many surprising twists this series will do your head in, this installment was no exception. I think I actually tried to reach into my Kindle at one point to unmask the damn photographer myself - I NEEDED TO KNOW WHO IT WAS!! And again with the friggin cliffhanger - you're gutting me O'Rourke!! I'm desperate for the next book but dreading it too because I absolutely do not want this series to end, I cannot say good-bye, we've been through sooo much with these people, can you see my struggles? Are they clear enough?? See....MENTAL! I cannot say this enough -if you haven't started this series yet, why the hell not?!?? Stop reading this review, go get 'Vampire Shift' and get started on this incredible journey. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

Kiera was like one of those fucking kids' toys -a Weeble- it didn't matter how many times you pushed her over -she always got up again. ...more

There is a reason why I was hook line and sinker after reading Black Hill Farm,by Tim O'Rourke , back in 2011. I will drop any book I am reading at the moment to read any of Tim's books. He has such a unique and mysterious writing style that I have never read before. Time and time again Tim takes me away from my daily life and sends me off on adventures that make my head spin, scare the crap out of me, make my stomach turn,make me laugh,cry, relate to the characters, and most of all leave me gue There is a reason why I was hook line and sinker after reading Black Hill Farm,by Tim O'Rourke , back in 2011. He really makes my brain work over time and I love every moment of it. With that being said, Dead Push was no different. I don't want to give too much away, so I will explain how the book made me feel. In the beginning I felt elated,surprised,proud,and sad ( in that order). As the story moved along, I was once again surprised and very impressed with Tim's imagination. I was also extremely excited because I have missed a character very much and I knew they were going to make an appearance once again. At this point the story goes from past to present - in a way- from a different point of view which was bittersweet. Now let me talk about Jack Seth.This creature is the worst of the worst of monsters. Up until Dead Seth, I wanted the guy dead,just like the title, but that book left me with a better understanding of why he turned so evil.It made me extremely heartbroken with what he went though. Then we move on to Dead Water, once again, I hated the guy! Then we have Dead Push...I can not tell you how many times I hated and liked this man in this book! I probably have whiplash. Lol. I guess you can say I am now relieved with how things turned out with him and more I'm on the like side.Yes, there is a major cliffhanger, but Tim is notorious for them. Lol. It just makes me all the more giddy to read Dead Lost and to continue to try to think the way Tim thinks to figure out the answers I need. Which is an impossible task because the man is a story-puzzling genius! Oh yeah..this book -in my opinion - has the funniest content of all of his books! ...more

Undeniable brilliance! Yet again Tim left me enthralled, exhilarated, surprised and frustrated... yes a cliffhanger folks!

Tim O'Rourke is one of those authors you automatically buy books from.. such twisted imagination that leaves you enraptured again and again... 99.8% of the time you never see it coming!

Another fab book from Tim O'Rourke,
Totally grabs you and wont let go until you have finished.The action picks up right where the last book left , the pace never letting up for a second until the shocking Tim O'Rourke speciality cliff hanger at the end.Then a few choice words from me lol..
Now got to wait for Dead Lost,but with Tim's books you never mind waiting as you know the next one will be well worth it. What an Awesome person as well as Author. :) ...more

Worth the wait. Can see why the author wanted to wait before publishing. From the pov of Potter and Jack Seth adventures abound with some questions answered only for more to become apparent with the ending that you don't wont to come. Now need the next book (Dead Lost) to be written - oh well just have to let my imagination run riot until then - Congratulations Tim on another excellent book and to the many more no doubt coming our way. ...more
