What a beautiful book. I never thought that something written so simply could make me cry like this book did! Wonderful characters a plot that was simple but never boring and a constant theme of hope and love in one of the darkest periods of history. Sometimes you just need to read something that is a little saccharine but with a lot of heart and this was perfect.

Narrated by one of the most original and unlikely of characters. Death tells the story of a young girl who steals books during hard times of a Nazi-occupied Germany. This story is so well written that when I came to the end, I wish I hadn't read it in such a small amount of time. I became so attached to the characters and engulfed in the story that I wanted to reread it all over, again. When I finish the other books I plan to read, I will diffenately read this one again once I am through. If you ...more
