"Keep the change, or rather, change into these. I'm guessing your current ones are a little wet."

I have to be honest, I didn't really enjoy the first half of this book at first. I was not a fan of Elec. I thought he was an cocky ass (and not the good kind) and didn't really see what Greta saw in him, other than a hot body. I just couldn't connect with him at all. I hated the way he treated Greta, it just didn't seem like he had a purpose to be so mean to her.

Then about halfway he st ...more

Alec!!! So edgy and sexy! If only all stepbrothers were dirty-talkin' eye candy!

Well I started this book this morning and by around 15% I was thinking naw not going to work - too slow. Its going back. LOL and with a flip of a coin Penelpe Ward sucked me in.
Good so good, such a different take on of a Taboo story.

This started out as a five star read for me but I found the second half of the book a little disappointing. Part one was great. Sucks you in right away. Greta has a great likable voice and the interaction between her and Elec is clever and entertaining. Their feelings for each other are palpable and off the charts hot. This continues throughout, but there were key parts of the second half of the book that I didn't like. Greta's reading of Elec's book seemed so great at first, a clever w ...more

I have to say that Elec was such an ass at first that I wasn't sure that I would like him, but even though this book was in first person from Greta's pov I still ended up getting the emotion that Elec tried so hard to hide.
While they were younger he had his reasons for acting out, as any young man likely would in his situation. Any person really. We tend to take things out on the people around us when we feel helpless. We control what we can, even if it means making someone else miserable.

This was a recommendation. I started it thinking I would just read a few chapters... NOPE I was sucked in! Okay it's not perfect, it is not what I thought it would be at all. After looking at some of the reviews I don't think many people got the point either... BUT I did and it was an emotional wringer! I do realize that my brain swept aside some minor things that didn't work, and I just went on with the heart of the story and it was good. I will be checking out this author again.

So I really don’t know how I feel about the this book. Part of me loved it, and part of me disliked it. I loved Elec’s bad boy persona. And, I loved Greta’s innocence. But, I didn’t always love how Elec treated Greta, especially after his seven years away from her. Bringing Chelsea, to me, was not a cool move. But, I guess I understood it as I read more. The reading of Elec’s book was a little boring because I already knew most of that stuff, but when the ending was revealed, I clapped and cheer
