I wasn't expecting a cliffy. I thought the next books would be the secondary characters HEA. There was lots of mad sex, no romance, but a whole lot of drama, and a great set of secondary characters and their romances. I look forward to the next book and the coming confrontations between Cassidy and Shaw. ...more

The concept was intriguing at first, but when Cassidy and Shaw continued to try to one-up one another and having 'angry' sex my interest started to dwindle. In my opinion and taking into consideration what I had read to this point, this behavior could not lead to any type of romance. And as far as I got into the story, without an established and growing connection between the characters I just could not see it turning into love..

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance featuring work adversaries Cassidy and Shaw. I wasn't sure what I would think in the beginning, as I'm not that big of a fan of people who hate one another jumping into having sex right away. As the characters and storyline were developed a little more, I started to like the book quite a bit. I ended up thinking that the characters were good ones, and the storyline kept me interested. Now the position she has worked so hard to achieve cassidy will have to compete agsinst the one man she truly despises to obtain it.

Shaw Matthews is not what everyone believes him to be, well he is good looking and he does know that and a bit arrogant but his co workers just make assumptions, they assume he comes from money and the privileged but in truth it is the exact opposite; so when Cassidy makes the assumptions that he has not had to work just as hard as her she is totally wrong . Cassidy at least had the benefit of a college education, Shaw happened to get lucky and get a shot at being in the business because he caught the attention of one of Strykers owning partners in Detroit a few years back.

Shaw and Cassidy both start going after the The Rocketman all out each taken a different approach while continually throwing barbs at each other and consistently trying to one up each other, allowing their mutual hate full range in the office.
You know what they say about love and hate being separated by a fine line, well that theory is about to be tested.
Since Cassidy has been so focused on work she has gained herself the nickname of " Ice Queen" around the office. As the competition heats up to win Denver over to Stryker Entertainment , Shaw starts to feel like he may be loosing, but what to do to get ahead of Cassidy . So this is where we discover that Shaw is only thinking with his little head, his idea is to seduce Cassidy, and it would be no hardship , he thought she was a natural beauty when he first met her, that was until she opened her mouth. Shaw is know thinking that he has one way that would keep her from talking he would definately enjoy. What Shaw did not expect , was that seducing Cassidy would be as easy as it was.
Sex with Cassidy should of been just a distraction for her not become a waking fantasy for Shaw too, then somewhere along the line the little green monster rears it ugly head for both of them.
The author takes us through several intresting scenarios of secure the free agent football player, beat your co-worker to the punch all while having bonfire hot sex scences along the way with your enemy!
Do they get the Football player ? Yes. Which one of them does Rocketman choose? I will never tell.
Is the story over, no not by far, you get a cliffy for an ending to be continued in book two of the trio " Getting Rough".

I listened to this book while I slaved away at work, and I think I need to listen to hot sexy books all day long. Before I knew it, it was quitting time at work.

God my favorite part about this book was how hot the male narrator was. Brian Pillino's voice, who gives life to our sexy male lead, Shaw Mathews, is so sexy and when he was talking during the sexy times I about lost my damn mind. To say I was distracted and sliding off my office chair is a huge understatement! Girls, it was beyond hot, I listened to this book while I slaved away at work, and I think I need to listen to hot sexy books all day long. Before I knew it, it was quitting time at work.

I enjoyed Muffy Newton's narration as well. Muffy, who plays the spitfire Cassidy Whalen, is just the bee's knees. She has a soothing voice that just made you wanna pull up a chair and relax for days as she told you a story of a devilish man. And im just saying when she got into her hot and sexy times, I was no disappointed in the least. Both Brian and Muffy brought the story to life and breathed such hot, sexy, sizzling vibes into it that I was just smitten from the start.

The story it self was entertaining as well. However, I don't think I would of enjoyed the story as much had I been reading it myself. One of the biggest enjoyments regarding this book was the narrators. From the moment I heard Brian's sexy vocals I got chills and knew this was gonna be good. Dual narrations have ruined me for anything else. I now look and seek out sexy romances with equally sexy male and female narrators.

I really enjoyed how Ms. Parker, let you in to the lives of all the wonderful people who frequent the lively and oh so charismatic bar known as "Monkey Business". You just know something wonderful is coming in future books with her lovably and kind hearted friends. The circle of friends that surround both Shaw and Cassidy are such a close knit group, you can feel the love and support they breath into each other. When someone is in need (you know the part I'm talking about) they drop everything and rush to their friends side.

I was not expecting the ending we got. Its a bit of a cliffhanger, however, not one that most would expect. I felt the ending was kinda sudden and I was hoping to hear the start of one more chapter not the end credits. However, it did serve its purpose case I'm chopping at the bit to get more. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, however I will be waiting for them to come to Audio release, because I kind you not im addicted to Brian and Muffy's voices, and I aint going to rehab so shut it!

Shaw and Cassidy are sports agents competing for the same partnership and they will do anything to win. Funny, sexy and entertaining. I enjoyed the banter between Shaw and Cassidy as well as their chemistry together, very hot! Excellent Read.
