Jake Hyde is a jaded thirty-four year old man, with a very different background from his present. Though he's living his dream in his custom auto business, his personal life is anything but a dream. He's resigned himself to meaningless sexual experiences...that is until he meets Piper. He does't believe anyone can be as sweet and sincere as she is, but once he gets his own head of his ass, he works hard at making her his.

The boys, Kase, Eli, Key and Rhys, are his crew. They work together and are brothers in every way but blood. Edge, Ray and Harlow are Piper's people and together they make a tight knit family of people you choose. Funny and willing to do anything to protect and care for each other, they band together to give advice, save Jake and Piper from themselves, as well as anything else that may threaten them.

When frightening events start to happen to Piper, Jake's protective instincts kick in and all their friends band together to keep her safe. Until they discover someone very close to them is behind it all. Suffering from self doubt and insecurities, Jake is almost too late in stopping a tragedy from happening. But love and friendship brings them both through.

This was a really great first effort from an author, I believe, will only improve and have more great stories to come. I really enjoyed the read and am definitely looking forward to more from the Hyde crew. I hope the next story is either about Kase and Harlow, or Rhys and whatever happened to him to make him like he is now. ...more

Hyde and Seek by Layla Frost is the first book in the Hyde Series. This is the story of Piper Skye and Jake Hyde.
Piper his looking to get her Van fix with a set up that keeps the back on it cooler for bakery deliveries. She goes to the Hyde garage where she ends up meeting Jake. Jake doesn't say much and tries to fight his growing attraction but it doesn't take to long before he doesn't let Piper out of his sites.

This was so much like Kristen Ashley's books that I had to keep looking at the cover to make sure I wasn't reading her work.
