I've been wanting to try this author for quite some time after reading some fantastic reviews of her titles. I think I'm going to have to try another because this one just didn't do much at all for me. Maybe it is one of her first because there were times when the writing was so over the top. There was a little something in her writing though that made me feel I should try some of her more recent titles.

I liked Maggie and Kyle. I was glad to see her finally stand up for herself, and could tell she had it in her from the beginning.
Maggie is a teacher by profession. She is just an all around good person, but Maggie has a low self-esteem, which is a product of growing up with a mother and sister who made it their business to make her feel unworthy.
The good thing: she surrounded herself with good friends, and everyone in the community loves her because of the type of person she is.

Wow, I REALLY didn't like this one. If a picture could replace 1,000 words, well, I wish Lauren Dane could figure out a way to evoke a scene without having to explain everything in such painstaking detail. Just the description of the Chase family smothers me. Shane is a jerk. Kyle is ridiculous and the by-play of all the brothers, well, it's just not for me.

Loved it, so addicted to the whole series
This was a good story. At times I got tired of her insecurities and I thought her mother was horrible but I loved her friends and adored the Chase family. I wished the author spent more time developing Kyle's character.

Glad this wasn't the first book I read by the author. Decent enough plot but could used a strong editor's hand.
