I’m not a huge BDSM fan, but this one was very different and not what I was expecting at all. It was a really enjoyable read. It completely caught me off guard. The characters are different as well as the story. One morning, Iris finds herself in a conversation with sexy baker, Owen., after a night out drinking and celebrating her boss’s wedding. She comes into his shop all the time and has definitely noticed how hot he is, but this is the first time she’s actually talked to him. She comes into his shop all the time and has definitely noticed how hot he is, but this is the first time she’s actually talked to him. It appears he thinks she’s pretty hot as well. She extends an invitation to him that will have a lasting impact on both of them. The two end up in a “no-strings” relationship, agreed to by both of them. As they spend more time together, they discover their commitment to having no commitment might be much harder than they anticipated.

The book isn’t your typical BDSM relationship, and the characters’ roles are completely reversed. And, I loved them. She is the one in control, and he is the submissive. I wasn’t sure I was going to like that because I love a strong, alpha male, but I ended up loving Owen. I loved how Winters delved deep into Owen and Iris’s personalities to show readers exactly how they became the people they are. Owen wants to give over control in the bedroom because he has to have control in his business. However, he can’t find a woman who understands his feelings, so he doesn’t do much dating. Iris feels frustrated in her personal life because she feels like she has no control in her life. She’s in a job that her feel stifled, and she was told what to do by her conservative and controlling father. Knowing all these things helped me connect with the characters more. Owen is also super sexy and hot even if he doesn’t want to be the alpha in bed. And, Iris, I love this chick!!! She acts like a guy…no strings sex, although deep down she wants to be in a relationship. It takes quite a bit of nerve to ask a guy you just really sat down with and talked to and then ask him to join you on your week-long trip. I’ve never seen a woman like Iris. She’s physically a smaller woman, but emotionally this woman is a giant!!!!!

I love a book with memorable characters and a fast plot. Tied Score was definitely that! Again, I loved the role reversals of the characters, and the story was very fast paced. Some may say it might be too fast, and that the romance developed too quickly. But, the pace was perfect for me. It fit very well with who the characters were. If they had moved any slower, it wouldn’t have worked, and that wasn’t who Iris or Owen were. A great addition to an already great series! I highly recommend reading if you are looking for something a little different and full of some mind-blowing sex!
