In Urban Fantasy, Mercy is one of the stars. She is clever, reflective, and loyal. She is ordinary and extra ordinary all that the same time. She is also so so funny. The slow build of this love story of several books is something to cherish. Brigg's world building should be a model for all of the writer's in this genre.

My reaction to this series is very similar to the one I had last summer when I read the Dark Days series by Jocelynn Drake. I had to get a few books in and come to grips with the fact that this is an urban fanstasy series, not a romance series. Once I get there, I'm golden.

I really liked the first book in the series. I was luke warm about the second, but this one really got me. I am so happy to see the love triangle resolving (that really bugged me in the last book). And I actually found myself ...more

Probably more like 4 1/2 stars. I liked this book soooooo much better than the first, and much better than the second. I hope the rest of the series is as good as this one was.

Another enjoyable Mercy Thompson read, this book kept you interested all the way through with all the action and mystery.
Mercy finally chooses her mate in this book which was a highlight for me being the hopeless romantic that I am.
