This was my absolute favorite “ROCK CHICK” story to date! Full of fun, excitement, and drama that doesn’t let up until the final page is turned. Steamy love scenes between two magnetic characters that promises to melt the reader’s heart in more ways than one.

I couldn’t get enough of Hecter, the mysterious and sexy undercover DEA agent. He’s got a job to do and that is to investigate the incarcerated drug lord, Seth Townsend. While undercover investigating Townsend, though, he gets an eyefull of his “ice princess” daughter, Sadie. Sadie is a curvy petite young woman that runs her father’s household and does exactly what she’s supposed to do – don’t ever show her true feelings. Make sure that she’s ice cold. Hector, though, gets a glimpse of her possible vulnerable side and decides, when his job is over, that Sadie will be his. But, Sadie never comes after him, and Hector is beyond pissed. When she finally asks for protection from Lee Nightingale’s security company, she’s turned down. She knows that no one wants anything to do with her, but she’s scared for her life when a trio of brothers want to take over her father’s turf. What happens next to Sadie has Hector guilty of not helping her when she most needed it. He knows he f**cked up, and he’s sorry. But, will Sadie be ever able to forgive him? And, if she does, what kind of relationship can they possibly have? Can she ever trust him again?

Their relationship is of a love/hate conflict. There’s no way that Sadie can be the drug lord’s daughter that is attracted to an investigator that has it out for her father. Even though she doesn’t agree with her father’s lifestyle, he’s all the family that she has. Her mother was killed when she was little, and there’s not a day that goes by that she doesn’t miss her.

Hector’s family is supportive and protects their own. So, he has a family that he can be proud of. Sadie sees this and wishes that she had that kind of family support system also. But, she’s happy that Hector’s family treats her as one of their own. Sadie is not good for everyone. She knows this. And, hopes that somehow someway there could be a future for this power-house couple.

The novel does not disappoint the reader with tons of suspense, heartache, and romance. The intimate scenes were steamy and erotic – explosive with sensually intense moments. It definitely has that magnetic pull to cause the reader to want to engage in this romantic suspense til’ the bitter end. Kristen Ashley does not disappoint with writing a couple perfect for each other while further thrilling her reading audience. This is one of my favorite Ashley books. Its lush. She just goes and goes. She gives us everything. It is an amazing romance.

The story starts out brutal. It is off screen but what really makes is the impact of this horrible crime. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone is human. Sadie blooms. Hector is off the hook. KA author's note says it all about what the book is about which is friendship, taking a hand, and love.

I just adore this series ! The story line is just so touching and at the same time there is this whimsical attitude everyone has and makes a dark situation lighter. I know I would want friends like that. Sadie is not the kind of person you would coddle it would have scared her right off. I think what touched me is how she tried so hard to cope and survive despite it all. I loved the characters in this story buddy and Ralphie I think I could use them in my friend group too!

I rate the Rock Chick series a 5 star all the way, some of the titles I enjoyed more than others but as soon as I put down one book I couldn’t wait to get started on the next so in my eyes the series is well worth the 5 stars.

Hector and Sadie, Rock Chick Regret could very well be my favourite KA couple. Hector was an undercover DEA agent who helped put Sadie’s drug lord father behind bars. Here’s a snippet where Sadie asks Hector what he first thought of her when he met her.

His fingers were warm on my neck and he gave me a gentle squeeze.
He didn’t hesitate with his answer. “I thought you were beautiful and I thought you were cold.”
This didn’t offend me, a lot of people thought that way because I wanted them to think that way, so I nodded.
“Do you want to know what I think of you now?” he asked.
I really didn’t, I wasn’t sure I could take it but for some bizarre reason I nodded again anyway.
“I think you’re even more beautiful and I think you’re totally lost.”
My brows went up. “And you think you can help me find my way?”
He shook his head, his eyes went warm and I got another neck squeeze coupled with a tightening of his arm around my waist.
“Mamita, only you can find you way. I just wanna be along for the ride.”

And there’s always plenty of funny snippets…too many to share...the following is Sadie letting Hector know his views are a little archaic.

“Maybe I should go put on my ragged white dress and stone necklace and you can put on your leopard skin tunic and we can pedal in our stone car to the roadhouse before you go bowling with Barney and I go shopping with Betty, Fred.”

For a self-published author Kristen Ashley is one of the best. She certainly knows how to drag me into her characters lives. I see from reviews that KA writes in a way that not every reader enjoys, but she’s certainly captivated my attention. I can't wait for Ally Nightingale's story.

For those of you new to Kristen Ashley I would suggest you follow the reading order on her blog, because some characters are intertwined between the series. I am positive I've read who Ally's partner ends up as but I just can't remember who!!

I'm definitely in a different place than I was 10 years ago when I first read this. I loved Sadie and my heart broke for her so many times while reading this story. Me agreeing with Hector saying she has "a will of steel" is still true. It was born out of necessity to get through her life after her mother disappeared.

It also pissed me off that everyone got away without uttering the words I'm sorry. Why did it take something like this happening for their behavior to change towards her? Yes, we knew they were sorry and rightfully blamed themselves, but no one actually said it and I think she deserved the actions and the words.

And honestly, this time around with everyone being all up in everyone's business didn't strike me as funny as it had in previous books, it actually got on my nerves.

I'm not going to say anything about anyone else because just about everyone except Sadie annoyed me.

I fall in love a little more with each of the books in this series. Almost every time I say that the current heroine is my favorite. This time it is true, Sadie is the strongest, and Hector I love because he did do the one thing that the others didn't and that was give her time in the beginning.

I definitely have to agree with Hector's assessment about Sadie having "a will of steel", it broke my heart the things she had to go through. Those things made her stronger. She cried, a lot, but who wouldn't, but she never broke. If she were a real person she would definitely have every ounce of my respect.

Hector is hot and he seems more open about his feelings for Sadie than the other guys were. Yes, we knew they loved the girls, but Hector made no bones about what he wanted from her. They only confusion came because she didn't understand due to her past.

Still, there is something that is keeping me from giving this 5 stars, but it is definitely a 4.5. ...more

I have eaten up this series, mostly over the past 6 weeks. It's been a heck of a ride and it's getting to the point where it will be concluded, so it took me longer to wade through this one than the others. I still like the whole gang and honestly, I liked the fact that Hector actually didn't act as much like a neanderthal as the rest of them (even though he IS as much of a neanderthal as the rest of them).
