Parked it. I just couldn't get to grips with the plot.

I got to 60%+ and I'm throwing in the towel.

I am a bit of a loss what to say as I don't want to fire off how I actually feel about this book BUT I always believe in honesty so here are my honest thoughts about In the Unlikely Event.

L.J. Shen is an automatic go to author. I love her asshole hero's and her writing but I'm not sure what happened with this because it wasn't good.

Unlikely Event by L.J. Shen is the story of Aurora 'Rory' and Malachy 'Mal'.
Wow...what a different romance story line for me. Aurora and Malachy meet in a meet when they are young and in a total different country where they have a hot encounter. I've tried reading this author before with no luck. But I know a lot of people are fans. This book was listed as a Rom/Com, so I thought I would give it a chance.

Got through it with a bit of skipping around, but didn't really take to it. Interesting concept, which was the only thing that kept my attention. I do hate it when people hold back the truth for so long that it causes problems. I know this is needed for dramatic license in the material. Great book I honestly couldn’t put it down !!! I was just a little disappointed that Mal was forgiven so easily… I get it they experienced a lot of obstacles throughout their lives but I felt like he definitely could have done more because in my heart he committed more wrongs. If he would have sought her out for an explanation and not just accepted the “reply” then all could have been avoided.

Perhaps I’m in a funk and I’m like f*** forgiving him so easily lol…I highly recommend any book by this ...more
