Brilliant book!
I didn't know what to expect, as I've read so many urban fantasies, and I was pleasantly surprised. The book bought a fresh perspective on the apocalypse, I loved Zoey and Ryker, of course and their dynamic. And Sprig, lets not forget about Sprig. ...more

I like the story, but the writing is superfluous and convenient. The characters are built totally through description and it seems on several occasions that traits are added in at the time for necessity, the 'oh by the way I'm a world famous street fighter from way back' drop bomb is just one example of weak character building up front.
I'm going to read the next book because I'm interested in what happens, hopefully the writing matures or the editor steps it up. ...more
