This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. OK, I am going to start this off by saying L J Shen NEEDS to apply TRIGGER WARNINGS on her synopsis that includes sexual assault on a child, self-harm and that it also contains a scene of a murder.

Clearly my relationship with this author is on the wane.

I loved her early stuff, really loved them AND she is a great writer (the writing in this was one was really good at times) but her PLOTS have lost the plot and have gone AWOL and I don't get why she is or needs to take them in the direction she OK, I am going to start this off by saying L J Shen NEEDS to apply TRIGGER WARNINGS on her synopsis that includes sexual assault on a child, self-harm and that it also contains a scene of a murder.

As readers, we all have books we automatically go to and wait with great expectation for their release. We have our different tropes and we all have different taste but not sure what is going on here. Has she been told by her publisher to go for the "over the top dark effects" in her plot?

I thought after the Unlikely Event she had hit a blip in the road but OMG Angry God I don't understand what is going on with her thought process.

Yes, this story was very predictable and like a lot of readers was looking forward to reading about Vaughn but he just didn't do it for me. Remember his Dad - well there's the difference. I know the storyline has moved on some years but for a guy who was brought up in a loving relationship I just couldn't believe his parents didn't get the change in Vaughn's behaviour and that something was clearly wrong (when the sexual assault began).

The chisel? What the heck was the point of that? What was it meant to bring to the story, their relationship?

So we go from a rather messy beginning, a load of drama and did you (Like Me) get nothing from he romance between Vaughn and Lenora? I got their hate but nothing else.

This is her second book that is getting a NO from me and please can someone tell this talented author that we don't need needless daft plots that follow the same issues, same drama and the same flow. Just stick with what you do best.

Vaugh had so much more to give and I wanted that from this story but didn't get it.

Vaughn Spencer is swoon worthy with his mad at the world facade. We get to dive into his character and really find out what makes his tick and why he does and act the way he does. I loved the narration!

Angry God by L.J. Shen is book Three in the All Saints High Series. This is the story of Lenora and Vaughn. This book did not disappoint. Lenora was a the perfect heroine and just what Vaughn needed. Loved this series and this author's writing.
