What can I say about this book that hasn’t already been said? I decided to start this series when I knew that book three was being released in January, 2024. It was amazing! I couldn’t put it down…reading 800 pgs in three days. And just so much fun, and compelling, and romantic! The first 200 pgs was a little slow because of the world building and cast of numerous characters. But, the story itself was thrilling, while Sarah J. Maas’s writing was brilliant! I'm leaving the synopsis' for other readers. My review is based on my enjoyment of this book. Yes, it was a little wordy (read boring) at spots but considering the character and world building that was being done, it was easy to forgive. That names confused me at times but I caught on eventually. The sex scenes were the hottest scenes ever especially considering there was no actual sex. The emotional scenes had me reaching for my Kleenex box which is something, believe me, I never do. I kid you ...more

After reading the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, I was super excited to hear that she was working on an adult fantasy romance novel. Lucky for me, it wasn’t too long of a wait!

House of Earth and Blood didn’t waste any time pulling you into the story with action. I immediately felt the friendship and connection with Bryce and Danika, but did have a little trouble connecting emotionally to Bryce’s character for a while.
