I haven't read a romance-contemporary book in a long time. And I am glad I did! It is only once in a while that I read a pure romance, with nothing else (fantasy with romance, mystery with romance, etc.), so I was kind of hesitant to read this one. But man, am I glad I did! This is one of the cutest romance's I have ever read! While this is such an adorable book, I absolutely HATE the ending. I know that not every book should have a happy ending, but what is o Buddy read with Im_here_for_Rhysdand

This is one of the cutest romance's I have ever read! While this is such an adorable book, I absolutely HATE the ending. I know that not every book should have a happy ending, but what is one more book? I NEEDED them to end up together. The whole time after Eleanor had moved, I kept expecting one of them to show up at the other's door. But that didn't happen. And now my heart is broken. But would I read this a million more times? Yes. Would I recommend it to everyone? Yes.

Thoughts on the Characters:
Eleanor Douglas: Aaaahhhh!! I love her so much! I love how she doesn't take no for an answer, I love that she doesn't care what other people think about her, but my favorite part about her is that she stayed with Richie to protect her family. That takes a lot of courage.

Park Sheridan: I honestly cannot decide who I like better, Park or Eleanor. I love that Park was willing to give up his "popularity" to protect Eleanor. He was willing to disappoint his parents, and risk punishment to help Eleanor get away from Richie. He truly did love her.

I read this book back in 2018 and let's just say a lot of my opinions and views have changed.

Eleanor and Park's blurb doesn't reveal much apart from being a story of the "tangled web of first romances," 80's music, mixtape exchanges and bus seat dilemmas. Being a romance reader and an avid contemporary fan, I was drawn to this premise, I mean, who wouldn't? It just sounds so cute and fluffy. Just the kind of light-hearted read I always want by my side.

But I was disappointed by this book.

Overall, this was a lovely book.
The reason I didn't give this book 5 stars out of 5 is that, while I like some romances, this book was a bit too lovey-dovey for me. I thought that some parts were fine but the same things kept happening. The end, however, was one of my absolute faves. I would recommend this book to my friends. But, only if they don't mind the whole lovey-dovey thing. Some people like that and others don't. You just can't please everyone. I still would like to say that ...more
