What Members Thought
4.5 stars because the beginning had, in my opinion, stilted dialogue. I don't usually choose what I think of as "girly" type novels, but our book club chose this and I ended up really enjoying it. Set during WWI, it had the great combination of providing romantic escapism and harrowing realism. This was kind of the perfect novel to read during a stressful pandemic.
