Hear me out, this started off a liiiiiittle bit boring, but not BAH kind of boring. Just slightly uneventful.

But then, as I read on, I realised where is it going and I kind of liked it.

This was one cute and sweet read, odd at times, but in a nice way, and I must say, the narrative and the way the characters interacted with each other gave me some Rick Riordan vibes in Percy Jackson.

The line exchange was also pretty good, fun at some parts, witty at others and I must say, everything that cut

This book was like the gay version of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children...

And I loved it.

The House In The Cerulean Sea was just that kind of book that would make you feel fluffy and warm on the inside. With its exploration of the meaning of family and happiness to the quest to find the real meaning of life, it was difficult not to fall in love with the story. I personally think I fell in love with it by page one with the introduction of Linus Baker, the main character, who seems to be

Characters-10- the characters in this book are gems. I loved them, and I loved how each kid had a distinct personality and their own history. The main character Linus is also great, and I enjoyed him.

Atmosphere-10- The Cozy Fantasy vibes are strong with this one, and I'm here for it! I loved being swept away as I read this book.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is a charming and adorable tale of accepting instead fearing those who are different. The characters are extremely loveable and the entire atmosphere is magical. It isn't all sunshine and unicorns though but the tough moments are overcome by the characters being there for each other.

So why is this book not getting a full score? There are so many quotable conversations and thoughts in this book but many were also obviously "this is a moral lesson for you to learn" -

I had only seen great things about The house in the cerulean sea, which is the reason why I was nervous to read it, scared to just find it okay. But it wasn't just okay, I loved the book so much. I loved the writing style.
It was so heartwarming, the characters were so sweet and I got so attached to them. I loved seeing the evolution of Linus's thoughts, stand up for himself and the magical children.
