I've seen arguments on this site about genre fiction - Is something fantasy, magic-realism, literary fiction, science fiction or any of a hundred other sub-categories. But usually, the divide between books for children and books for adults is pretty clear. Even if I rather enjoyed Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy when I read them in my late 20s, I knew they were principally aimed at kids, and perhaps what I enjoyed about them was a kind of vicarious revisiting of childhood.

Neil Gaiman’s writing is just 😍😍😍
The Ocean at the End of the Lane follows the journey of a man returning to his childhood home for a funeral, and remembering his long forgotten past. The story lifts from the page like a dream long forgotten, with Gaiman really hitting the mark on thinking how a child responds to events so much differently than an adult.
