I am not current with the Dresden Files yet (getting there ever so slowly) but everything since book 4 has been solid. I loved Blood Rites. LOVED IT. Butcher keeps getting more inventive with his world, and he's toned down some of Harry's groan-worthy qualities. The side characters are introduced better and feel more fleshed out and necessary.

This Dresden book was fantastic. It started slow and for a while I was extremely disappointed in it. But then * powie * the story slaps you in the face and lets you know who the boss is. I literally could not put this thing down last night. The genius of these stories is that the writing is crisp, the characters amusing and interesting, the action great, AND the story lines themselves. Generally speaking each story has two main arcs. This wasn't my absolute favorite of the series but I'm raring to que up # 7- mouse is awesome and it was curious having thomas in there- I'll be curious to see where that goes but I have to admit thomas was developed in a much different direction than I expected. Great midway read looking forward to the next audiobook!
