Mr. Wexler is definitely an intelligent writer. His descriptions of military life and battle scenes are very descriptive and thorough, which is why I wanted to read this book. The characters of Winter and Marcus are very likable, and I enjoy reading about characters who try to do the right thing instead of being devious. Flintlock Fantasy is one of those new terms genre fans are hearing a lot of these days. It’s one sub-genre this reader happens to like very much.
