Howl is the most dramatic character and I absolutely loved him.
I had a great time reading this, but I think the fact that I watched (and loved) the Studio Ghibli adaptation first played a large role in my enjoyment. The plot dragged at times, but the whimsical-ness made up for it.

I had never seen the actual Studio Ghibli film before reading. so, I read this and then watched. I will say these can be enjoyed both as separate creative works as well as complimenting one another.
The tones of this book are more humorous, particularly British humor which since the film is Japanese the tonal shift definitely occurs mostly because of this, in my opinion.

3rd time re-reading this book. This is my first re-read of the year and still enjoy this book very much. I have watched Howl's Moving Castle that the book was an inspiration for. Compared to the book yes it was different but still had the same concept that the story was going for and a good read if you liked watched Howl's Moving Castle as much as I did when it first came out.
