What Members Thought
There probably were a few things I liked about this book as I read it, but a month on I cannot remember one of them.
What has stayed with me is how let down and disgusted I felt by Jean's acceptance of the treatment of indigenous Australians (did she actually use the word boong or coon? I think so) after having shown nothing but the utmost respect towards the Malayan people and culture whilst living there prior to WWII and then during the time as a POW.
