I had this book recommended by a couple of my Goodread friends and was looking forward to reading it and how glad I am for the excellent recommendation. This debut novel gripped me from the start and I found it very difficult to put down. I can understand the comparisons to 'Gone Girl' but this book deserves it's own praise, excellently written with strong characters and a superbly paced story. Reminiscent of Gone Girl in terms of plot, structure and characterization. Also a bit far-fetched, but interesting nonetheless.

It has been a while since I've read a book where I didn't like any of the characters. This was that book. It was very hard to like or empathise with any of the main players in this book. But having said that, this was still a riveting read and a page turning thriller. There were twists and turns and I certainly felt compelled to keep reading to the very end. A total drag with lots and lots of blabbering and not so useful contexts. Though the plot looked promising but it fell flat once and for all and one could easily guess what did happen?!!

Fast-paced but ultimately, a disappointment. I guessed what was going on about halfway through the book but that wasn't even the worst of it for me.

Rachel was pretty much Bridget Jones without the humour and the charm. Watching her humiliate herself over and over was painful.

Anna and Megan were vapid and dull.

I read this book pretty quickly so I guess I didn't hate it but I was hoping for better.

Well written, thrilling and kept me on my toes. The way the author wrote it was interesting from the beginning til the end. It is one of those books that brings you to another world and lets you feel what the characters think and feel. There was never a boring part in this book. The plot was nicely placed with an unexpected twist near the end.
