I decided to read this book because of it's very high rating and not because the description appealed to me.
How glad I am that I did, the book captured my attention from the start and I enjoyed it throughout.
The story centres around the friendship between Hassan and Amir and you go through all the emotions as the story unfolds. The characters are very strong and you can picture them and feel for them.
Believe me, this is a book you should read even if like me it does not sound appealing.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book and lets just say it shocked me! There is some very disturbing subject matter in this book, but being that it does happen, it is good that it is brought up. The story is a very touching one and it left me feeling blessed and having no right to complain about the miniscule troubles I face in m daily life.
