A challenging, get-lost-in read that requires the ability to trust the author and to then simply enjoy the ride.

It's just magical.
This novel won't be for everyone. Erin Morgenstern has a specific writing style - if you need lots of plot, she might not be for you. For me, Erin Morgenstern is one of our modern-day fairytale tellers - and I believe we need new fairytales as adults just as much as our children do.

Okay, this is a long summary for a book that while lengthy, doesn't have much story to its story. Which is funny, since it's a story about stories. But it is very, very beautifully written and if you can keep track of who is who, and some of the intertwined storylines, it's a fantastic read. What does the bee mean? The key? It took me a little while to get into this book. At first I was mad. It just didn't have the same feel as The Night Circus, which is a favorite of mine. But as the stories started to converge, I couldn't put it down.
