Appeal factors: Small-town police, intricately plotted, multiple perspectives, atmospheric.
Loved it! Ticked all my boxes of what I like in a mystery. An intricate plot (that still was reasonable enough), a satisfying but surprising conclusion, lovable characters along the way. It was fun how it was able to have both the professional detective and the amateur sleuth.
