I have seen a fair number of mixed reviews for this novel, and so although I owned a physical copy I decided to listen to the audiobook version, and am very glad I did. The narrator, Joe Morton, did an absolutely masterfull job of telling this story. I felt the narrative along with him, and he brought the journey of Hiram and Sophia to life in a way that I dont know for sure would have translated quite as well on the page.
