Shock is a funny thing. Things get both sharp and fuzzy. Time stretches and distorts. Things come rushing into focus and seem larger than they are. Other things vanish to a single point.
It took me awhile to get into this book, which is why I only gave it 3 stars. Of course, once I got engaged in the murder mystery part of this book, I sped through the rest and immediately put the next book on hold at the library. Young Adult Detective series -- a decent read, didn't have a big connection with characters, disliked that it ends on a "cliff-hanger" and doesn't fully complete the mystery -- trying to force you into reading the 2nd book in the series; Not sure if I will.
