Gender Queer was a beautifully constructed graphic memoir. Maia was able to reflect on eir experience and explain eir identity struggles in a way that made it accessible and deepened my understanding of gender identity. This book is important, not only for other queer individuals, but also for deepening understanding and empathy for others. Highly recommend.
