We gingen dit boek lezen met De Classineerders (we zitten tegenwoordig op Discord! supergezellig!). Ik had te weinig details scherp voor ogen en de club is altijd zo leuk, dat ik ben gaan herlezen. En wat een genot weer! Wat een heerlijk boek, wat een fijne schrijfster, en wat heerlijk vertaald. Genieten! Meteen zin om meer van haar te lezen weer!

Wat prachtig geschreven, wat prachtig vertaald. Helemaal om in te verdwijnen.

This book took me more than a month to read. The first half was such a struggle for me. Because English isn't my first language, I had some troubles with those (veryyyy) long sentences, that contained words I defenitly didn't learn in school.
At about 55 - 60% of the book I started to like it. The romance started, I had something to root for, and I really got into the story.

I loved reading about that time, it's so fascinating. There was such a pressure on woman to get married, and be admirable ...more

Shelves: classics

A beautiful classic, fairly easy to read (considering the time it was written, 1813). A romance story. I will definitely read more books of Jane Austen.
