I've done audio for this: it's designed to be for people learning English as a second language, so I certainly don't recommend it as a normal audio book experience. And I'm very aware that it could be done much better by a pro. But on the other hand, I really enjoyed doing it, the tool for doing the audio is online and simple to use. If anybody has text they would be interested to do audio for, I do encourage you to try it out and become part of our LARA project!

This book is fabulous!
And I mean this both in the real sense, as well as figuratively.
Each one on two legs should have read it.
How dictatorships and totalitarian systems work and, unfortunately, still working, and probably always will work is illustrated in this parable about the Stalin regime as impressive as probably nowhere else in the fictional literature.
Absolutely worth reading are also the two appendices, written by G.Orwell himself, in which his view on England's view on the Soviet syste ...more
