Eye on the prize, head in the clouds!
Eye on the Prize is the second book in the Diary of a Shy Backpacker series. It starts off just where book one left off. BJ has finally reconnected with the girl of his dreams. Or so he thinks. After a brief time together they split up once again as their backpacking adventures take them onto separate paths. She stays in Australia while he goes onto New Zealand. But no worries, they are scheduled to meet again in the near future.

I absolutely loved the first book in the series and it finished on a cliff-hanger which left me eager to pick up the second book. This time we follow BJ and his adventures in New Zealand. The narrative from the first book flows on perfectly and you feel like no time has been lost in-between. This is his second book in this series. I never knew what I was missing until I backpacked through his story. This was my chance to read a persons diary and not feel guilty. It was more of a guilty pleasure. BJ as he calls himself wanders around New Zealand. Attends World Cup games. This is where it gets real juicy interesting. He finds himself tangled in a web of two women that he fancy's. Will he end up with the sweet widget kisses one or the saucy sexual talking past history one? I don't know

Another fun romp!
Diary of a Shy Backpacker: ii. Eye on the Prize continues the randy wanderings of BJ, this time from Australia to New Zealand. Now however, thinking (hoping?) he’s met “the one”, our shy friend is struggling to corral his vast array of promiscuous thoughts. This series is perfect for those who enjoy travel (I once again perused Google for “vista points”), have an appreciation for spectator sports (cricket in particular), and are entertained by the inner workings of a young man’s ...more

Diary of a Shy Backpacker: ii. Eye on the Prize is a book I dove directly into after the feel-good ending of Diary of a Shy Backpacker: Awakening Down Under..
Backpacker travel continues in New Zealand, but more often than not, the mind hijacks attention for a journey that delves deep into thought. This is where Bruce Spydar’s knack for creating a connection really shines.
