Whoa!! I can't believe I actually used to write like this.

Yesh, I DO like this book. No, it's not perfect. Yesh, I did a complete re-write of it, while I was reading it. No, I haven't made an official announcement of this re-write, yet. Just be patient, grasshoppers.

Anywho, I'm sure you're all dying to know (Or maybe not): Just what do I think of my own written book, Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers? As Important note: I've already posted this review months ago! But Goodreads didn't notice, yet.

Anywho, I'm sure you're all dying to know (Or maybe not): Just what do I think of my own written book, Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers? As I've stated before, it's good. Not perfect, but still good. So, why did I want to read it? And what did I discover, while doing so?

First of all, I made my decision to read it, after having read a recent review of the book, by a certain female friend of mine, here on Goodreads. While doing so, I found several spelling and grammar errors as I was reading it. I also came across a number of what I call 'plot-mishaps', which I knew I just HAD to fix. And I've been putting off reading (And re-writing) this book for at least a few years, after having self-published it. And I've only just found spare time to get to it.

Now, don't get me wrong: The story ideas behind this book and the others which follow throughout the series I've written are good. Even wonderful! But just like with games, TV shows, and films, there's no such thing as a perfect book. Even if the author thinks their work is the best of the best or the Crème de la crème, and even if many of the author's fans tend to agree with him (Or her), it doesn't mean EVERYONE is going to feel the same way.

The famous African author, Chinua Achebe once described his own writing style, saying something along the lines of "If I were to listen to the suggestions and criticism of all my readers, then my book would be forever-changing." <---- Disclaimer: I don't have the foggiest idea if these were the actual words Chinua himself had spoken. I am only basing this off what I heard from other people who have read his books and seen his own commentary on them.

Needless to say, Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers really is a great story, if you're willing to look past all the mistakes and imperfections it contains. And it is the first of 4 of my own books, which I have done/plan to do at least partial re-writes of. Once I've re-written each of the first four books, I will at the very least, make an announcement with a link to said book on my Facebook page. However, for at least one of them, a full-on blog will be written.

Ross presents an interesting world, where young people are called upon to become morphing sky fighters, and who train to be better than themselves.

The story progresses quickly, and the writing is structured for the YA fan. Ross Eberle leads you through and sets up a challenging world, where any boy or girl can be 200 ft tall. The students battle each other and gain experience. all the while using magical tools, and scrolls, to be better.
