An exciting short read, filled with wonderful bits of magic and ridiculous radical ideas.

The book follows the early years of Catriona, a powerful druid, who embarks on various adventures in search of a book and related knowledge.

Not just one kind of magic, but several are present: dark magic, blood magic, druid, white magic, and clerics all play a part, with each magic caster holding their own powers. Author Gary Stringer does a magnificent job creating a world you can sink into. The main character Catriona (Cat) Redfletching, is witty and quick on her feet, especially when facing an adversary, but for me, the st
