I first read Road to Nowhere when I was 10, and oh boy was I way too young to handle significant parts of this subject matter. I just remember seeing an awesome book cover on a classmate’s desk and seeking it out at the library. I was thrilled when I came across the (very minor) swearing. Classic Christopher Pike mindf***. I guessed the twist fairly early but still enjoyed it. The stop at the fortune teller’s house seemed a bit unnecessary. The backstories the characters told each other were compelling.

MY FAVORITE PIKE BOOK! Even after all these years!

I just finished what is at least my fifth reading of this book. I didn’t keep track as well of the dates when I was younger, but based on the publication date, my first read must have been not long after the book was originally published. Christopher Pike has been my favorite author for almost 30 years and I don’t see that changing at this point. I love his books now as much as I did when I first read them.
