it was hovering between an “it’s okay” to “i like it”. I enjoyed some moments and took mental notes but a lot of them were also breeze worthy. It suits to be a light read — as I feel like I’m reading multiple blogposts/ig captions at times.

It’s cool to read references that the author makes to not only psychologists/philosophers like Freud or Jung but also she Forgot to post this here lol. Read this book as part of JK's birthday celebration !! here's my IG review:

It’s cool to read references that the author makes to not only psychologists/philosophers like Freud or Jung but also she brings up pop culture references such as characters from movies, dramas, tv shows and scriptwriters and celebrities too (e.g. Knowing Brothers and Jessi). You can feel that she strives to be relatable to the korean general public as the book in general is understandably relying heavily on the korean culture + whenever she referenced things its not in a bibliography kind of feel but like you’re in conversation. However it is a double-edged sword as sometimes the references felt a bit out of place or a bit strained — like she’s trying to fit them in when it wasn’t originally supposed to be there.

I also wanted to bring up that I still thoroughly roll my eyes out at some (wrong and even dangerous) generalisations such as on Islam. That was such a turn off to me that I almost put the book down and wondered how the Indonesian Translated edition handled it.

But then it wasn’t the first time I read authors being Islamophobic and I didn’t have the energy to be mad to someone who doesn’t know I exist anyways.

Like I said, 50/50. I wasn’t in the greatest mindset when I read it and I thought it would help but it was mostly meh/ok, though some sentences did spoke to me for a minute.

I even wrote an update that at some moments I thought it was something JK would say and I wonder whether he somehow absorbed it from here.

I just hope that he really decided to live (proudly) as Jeon Jungkook that HE knows and loves 💜

Choosing [My Time] over the "happier" sounds (or should I say... euphoric?) of [Euphoria] feels almost counterintuitive at first thought, but I feel like it suits the whole "living my life" theme - even though it might be different in terms of mood (even without reading the lyrics you could hear the heavier longing of nostalgia in JK's notes). ...more

after finished this book, I have the courage to quite my job now.

I will hold this book very close to my heart. I hate self-help book but this is exception, im glad i picked it up. The story is full of hope. It takes you to explore your emotion, your thought and yourself.
The writer did not judge you and tell you how to live your life but it leds you to think more about how you want to live your life. 100% Recommended
