Reading this I realized how little I knew about Korea, and Japan's outlook during the war. The stories center around family, and different ways love manifests, and are quite touching. Highly recommend. ...more

It has richly woven characters, volumes upon volumes of social history, war history, all told through generations of one family. The story spreads a tale of beauty, love & loss, resilience and redemption through context during a dramatic point in real life world events.
